God the Artist

So often we think of God as Creator.  He made the Heavens and the Earth and all that we know.  Sometimes I wonder if we stop and think about what this really means.  Even as an artist myself, I hadn’t really stopped long to think about the importance of this until a recent conversation a mentor of mine… 

Where Does Your Confidence Lie?

Confidence is a funny thing.  One minute we can feel unstoppable; the next, unable to stand. This rise and fall occurs based on where we’ve placed our assurance and thinking towards the future regarding ourselves; our beliefs about what we are capable of.  Essentially, our confidence.  But let’s think about this… should this up and down happen?  The answer lies in where we’ve placed our confidence.

Fire of God

So… there's this guy. I'm kinda in love with him.  Crazy thing is, he's in love with me too! He loved me before I loved him. I think I must be the luckiest girl in the world.  Want to know a little about him?

In All Circumstances

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wonder where God was?  Maybe you've just been in a terrible accident, maybe the doctor's just delivered some bad news, maybe you were fired or were cut in salary, maybe your best friend just walked out on you, maybe someone you love died...  Whatever the situation.. would you believe God was there the whole time?

God is Good

Sometimes you just have to stop in your tracks and thank God for how good He is.  Not because He’s recently done something for you and not because everything is going your way… but just because of Who He is.

A Brand New Year

2011 has been a very interesting year... filled with great blessings, and trials. I've been blessed beyond anything I deserve, and I wouldn't trade the hard times for anything -- I've learned too much from them (granted, probably not as much as I could have).  I've also seen numerous ways in which I need to grow and trust in God.

Lessons Learned Outside the Classroom

Thank God for seasons of rest following seasons of learning. Even though this fall break is full of homework and studies, not having to be anywhere for two extra days has given me time to relax and refocus. I’ve also noticed that God tends to bring in trials right after learning a valued lesson, so that you’ll be sure and focus on what you’ve just learned, and not forget it as a passing whim. There are a few things happening that are helping me do just that right now.

So the thing is, I don't really even have to time to write this... but I felt like I needed to.

It's that time of year again! When students return to classes and the long, dog-days of summer wind down. So I'll take this opportunity to post one more addition before my brain is 'loaded-to-bursting' with all that is school.
